ARTIST INFO

BULLER & BÅNG
Formed in autumn 2024, Buller & Bång is the Luleå School of Music’s own Folk and World Music Ensemble. Over the past year, they have performed at the Pitefolk Festival, the Gammelstad Folk Gathering, and opened for Ale Möller at Kulturens Hus. Led by teachers Marcus Söderström and Robert Råberg, their repertoire spans from Irish jigs to Swedish polskas.

HOT CLUB DE JAKOBSTAD
Inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, this Finnish quartet delivers gypsy jazz with an Ostrobothnian twist. Expect elegant improvisations, folk tunes in a “gypsy style,” and plenty of joyful energy.

BAG OF MUSIC
A lively folk-prog band from Jakobstad and Vaasa, blending traditional Ostrobothnian fiddlers with rock and 70s prog influences. Moving freely between tradition and innovation, they bring a unique sound to the stage.

HJORD
Finland-Swedish artist Hjord explores the borderlands of Nordic jazz and modern soul. With a warm, soulful voice and a strong stage presence, she takes audiences on a journey through themes of acceptance, love, and belonging. Following her debut single Bright in winter 2024, her self-titled debut album HJORD was released in March 2025.

VALKEA
Valkea is an indie/pop-rock band from Oulu, Finland, with elements of post-rock and experimental rock. Originally started as Tatu Palo’s solo project in 2013, the group evolved into a full band in 2019. Their sound blends indie rock, pop, and atmospheric post-rock, often enriched with a horn section. With their 2023 debut album Yö kuihtuu valoon and performances at festivals such as Qstock, they are establishing themselves as one of Finland’s rising acts.

LKAB BIG BAND & LISA STOKKE
Internationally renowned singer Lisa Stokke joins LKAB Big Band – founded in 1926 by LKAB workers in Narvik – for a powerful ABBA tribute.
Lisa Stokke rose to fame as the original Sophie in Mamma Mia! on London’s West End, a role that helped define one of the most successful musicals of modern times. In recent years, she has toured Norway with her acclaimed show Lisa Loves ABBA. In 2025, she embarks on a new ABBA tribute tour full of energy, nostalgia, and big band flair. This Kulturnatt concert also marks the beginning of LKAB Big Band’s 100th anniversary celebrations, which continue in 2026 with concerts and events on both sides of the border.

NEW BLOOM
Closing the night is New Bloom, with their unique style of “space fusion” – a mix of expansive synth landscapes, elegant guitar melodies, and infectious basslines. Their instrumental, atmospheric, and groove-filled sound is showcased on their debut EP Airwaves (2021) and their follow-up EP Doom Disco (2025).
